HI, All,

I am facing a werid problem that I can not think of a reason: after I changed a 7942's internal extension from one 4-digit to a different 4-digit number, it takes CUCM long time to route to this new extension, reset the phone did not help, what could be wrong?

Thanks,

Hi,

If the call takes so long to be routed by CUCM, it probably means that you are waititng for the inter digit timeout before routing the call (default = 15 sec).

If so, double check your dialplan.

Regards,

Pierre.

Thank you for your reply, but why? it is a 4-digit internal extension, just a different number, how would CUCM inter-digit dialing timeout come into picture here?

Hi Jian,

This type of delay is usually caused by an Overlap in the Dialplan. For example the new DN's that are 8xxx and a RP that begins with 8. The best way to fix this is to remove any overlapping patterns. This is when the CUCM Parameter (Interdigit Timeout) might come into play and delay the connection.

Take close look at th Route Plan Reort in CUCM to determine this overlap

Cheers!

remove any route pattern matching with your extension

eg: extension = 1111

     route pattern: 111111

then remove this pattern.
