IP phone not registered to CME

Hi Everybody

Current environment:

- Router 2851 (c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M5.bin)

- Switch

- IP Phone 7942 (SCCP42.9-3-1SR1)

- CME8.6

Router ----- Switch ----- IP_Phone

IP phone is able to download and install firmware from CME (SCCP42.9-3-1SR1) 

if enabled the debug tftp events

it shows the following messages

Nov  9 16:31:32.857: TFTP: Looking for CTLSEP00269944D1AF.tlv

Nov  9 16:31:32.977: TFTP: Looking for ITLSEP00269944D1AF.tlv

Nov  9 16:31:33.093: TFTP: Looking for ITLFile.tlv

Nov  9 16:31:33.297: TFTP: Looking for SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml

Nov  9 16:31:33.297: TFTP: Opened flash:/its/vrf1/SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml, fd 10, size 1451 for process 12

Nov  9 16:31:33.305: TFTP: Finished flash:/its/vrf1/SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml, time 00:00:00 for process 12

CME config and Phone's cnf.xml have been attached

Anybody could help?

Sam, It looks like you have gotten a little further than I have.  I am also using a 2851 router. But I cannot figure how to load CME 8.6 as its too big when I copy it to flash:  Are you just coping the above files or did you put hte entire 8.6 file set onthe router.  And if the entire set, how? where?

I am guessing that you too are just getting started learning VoIP.  If you like, I would like to connect with you so we can colaberate and learn from each other.  I am using CBT Nuggets for trainging videos.

Go into telephony-service and run the command create cnf...this will update your cnf files.

I just copied the IOS directly from tftp to flash

I did the create cnf-file after I update the telephony service and the ephone stuff, but still the same result...

Hi,

Do the following Troubleshooting

1. Erase Cisco 7942 configuration from the phone.

2. Remove the following commands and after that create cnf-file under TS

cnf-file location flash:

cnf-file perphone

I have done your suggestion, but it still the same result

Here are some more info from the IP Phone7942 > Settings> Status> Status Messages

07:30:23 VPN Not Configured

07:30:22 SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml(TFTP)

07:30:21 No Trust List Installed

07:30:20 No DNS Server IP

Seems there is a strange on the SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml(TFTP)..

should it be SEP00269944D1AF.cnf.xml << withouit (TFTP)

One more finding... when type "show license", it shows

Index 1 Feature: ios-ips-update

is it because of license ?

Problem resolved ... seems the latest IOS c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M5.bin has problem on 2851

After using the previous/older IOS version.

All phones can registered to CME, the configuration has no problem
