Key Expansion Module Display option ?

Kent Drugge

CUCM CUC IMP 11.5 This is in regards to users devices that have Their line and Dept line on them. If you program a KEM with Their line, it does not show them on the phone when they are talking on the Dept line. Is there a way to have the KEM display when the user is talking on the Device ?

There are two ways to achieve the desired behavior here:
1. Configure the department line as a hunt group using the person’s direct/personal line to handle the calls. The Alerting Name parameter on the Hunt Pilot is displayed along with the calling party information of an incoming call so they’ll know how to answer.
2. Use Jabber to depict presence instead of CUCM BLF. In this scenario you would associate both line appearances on that user’s phone to that user (last section on DN Config page). They will appear “On the phone” when either line appearance is in use.

Hi there

You mean KEM (Key Expansion Module). If yes, KEM is for Cisco and PKM is for Mitel :)

Whats the phone model and the KEM model you are using ?

Also check these bugs and see if that troubles you.

LKEM not display speed dial name sometimes

Conditions:
Setup:
===
1) Setting Phone number of units to 3 on 8861 phone, plugin 4 kem.
2) set speed dial line on each KEM on phone web GUI
3) check phone kem UI

OBSERVED:
=======
phone boot kem one by one, but on the 3rd KEM, KEM UI display speed dial line without name. but these speed dial key still works normal. The 4th kem not boot up because of max KEMs limit.

Workaround:
try to reboot kem, may let kem work normally

Phone Status Line should display Calling Name
CSCtd63775

Description
Symptom:

Phone does not display the Calling Party Name for inbound calls.

Conditions:

Auto Line Select disabled, so the active call bubble does not come into play.
Consecutive calls come in, where the Calling Party number is indicated on the
phone Status Line, but the Calling Party Name is either not displayed at all (if
the call is ringing on a 7915 KEM) or is obscured by the active call bubble (if the
call is ringing on the main set).

Workaround:

Press the '?' info button followed by the ringing line button to change focus to
the inbound call, allowing the active call bubble to display the desired calling
party name and number.

Hope this Helps

Cheers
Rath!

Hi Rath,

You are correct, I have worked on Mitel also, I edited the post, it's for 8851 KEM
