Hello I was wondering if anyone can tell me the latest version of CUCM 8.5 will allow pauses to be placed so a long distance code can be placed in teh dialed number for call forwarding. Or is there a solution that would allow users to add a long distance code after their number is entered when they are forwarding a call from the desk phone to their cell phone. we are currently on 7.1.5.11901-1.
Thanks for your help.

There is no CUCM version which recognizes pauses in a dial string.
Paolo has a script that does that, you may want to reach him

You should be able to use FAC codes (Forced Authorization codes) to acheive this. To just restrict call-forwarding, you would use a separate call-forwarding calling search space that would go to a route pattern which required Authorization.
Edit: Nevermind, I read your requirements wrong. I believe the only way to do this is if you had the FAC codes as prefixes for Route Patterns. Then they could just dial the FAC code before the actual number.

The problem as described above, is that with card-type calling services, it is necessary to use pauses.
Since there is no way to do with standard CM, I've developed the script mentioned above.

Thanks for the responses, from further investigation I have learned that part of the problem is that the Telco has control of the long distance codes and that it will work if we take tha LD codes from the Telco and put them in the call manager. The only problem with that is we are using H.323 and we would have to change to MGCP, not a big deal, but we would lose the ability to block calls if we went back to MGCP. Will the script you mentioned work with H.323 or does it have to be MGCP.
I was also told that the call center software will accomplish this as well.
Thanks,
Randy

As specified in my products page, the script do work with H.323 or SIP, but can not work with MGCP.

Paolo
I got thte script and was looking though it and wanted to clarify something, we are not using calling cards each department has a long distance code issued by AT&T. when a call is being dialed the users dial the 11 digit numbers and the caller is then prompted to enter a 4 digit code followed by #, if the code is correct then the call goes through. will our script work for this cituation?
thanks for your help.

If there is a single code, or you can live with a single code being used, the script will work.
If you want a single code per user, it will not because there is no support of per-user configuration in the script.
In the latter case, if you want to control long distance calls, I would recommend you ask telco to remove the block and you implement FAC on CUCM to achieve the same result.

that is what I was wondering, will the FAC's work using H.323 or does it have to be MGCP?
thanks again.

FAC is indipendant from the GW protocol used.
