MCS 7835 H1 (HP DL 380 G4) RAID controller cache

Hello,

on the MCS server Array diagnostic utility reports about the error

=================================================

SLOT SUMMARY:

   Slot Num  Slot Type  Array Controllers and Host Adapters Detected

   --------  ---------  --------------------------------------------

   SLOT 0    PCI        Smart Array 6i Controller

SLOT 0 Smart Array 6i Controller ERROR REPORT:

   Array accelerator status:

      Temporarily disabled

      Batteries are not fully charged

   Battery failure on battery pack 1, replace battery.

=================================================

What I have tried to do to fix this issue:

1) Array battery pack was replaced (HP part number PN:351518-001)

2) Motherboard battery (3v Lithium #CR2450N) was replaced

3) RAID controller firmware was upgraded from revision  2.74 to revision 2.84.

But all my attempts have finished unsuccessfully.

It's ridiculous but the sibling MCS. that acts as subscriber Callmanager works without any errors.

Any suggestions?

Just to cover the obvious: Did you give the new battery time to charge?
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00217854/c00217854.pdf

IMPORTANT: After installing the new battery pack and replacing the

BBWC module in the server, it may take up to 45 minutes for the battery

to recharge and the BBWC to become fully enabled.

Assuming you've already covered that ground the only thing you haven't replaced is the actual SmartArray controller. It's possible that the failure is on the card, not the battery.

Thank you for reply.

More than 200 hours have passed since battery pack was changed.

In some HP docs 48 hours was stated as a full charge period for the battery.

But this period is also finished.

HP ADU (Array Diagnostic Utility) doesn't report about any problems. RAID is healthy.
