Media resources not registered with new CUCM subscriber

Hi All,

I’ve just added a 4th subscriber server to an existing CUCM cluster at a new site.

When I created the server all the Media Resources, Annunciator, MTP etc are in the default device pool and show as registered (default device pool CUCM group only contains the publisher server).

I have created a new DP and Call Manager Group, the new 4th subscriber is the first server in the list and all the Media Resources are now showing as Unregistered.

If I edit the Call Manager Group and put my publisher or another subscriber as the first server in the list then all the Media Resources show as registered. If I change the Call Manager Group back so my new sub is at the top of the list they show as unregistered again.

I’ve check that all my servers are running and rebooted my new server but no joy!

I’m sure I’m missing something obvious but I’m not sure what!

Thanks in advance

Matty

Is the ip voice media streaming service activated and started on the new sub?

Yes both:

Cisco CallManager
Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App

Are started.

Thanks

Matt

Hi,

Did you check the reachability between media resources and the new sub? Also, what kind of media resources are we talking about.

Can you please get CUCM traces for IPVMS service.

I don't think I need to check the reachability as we are talking about the media resources that are built into CUCM?

Annunciator, Conference Bridge, Media Termination Point, Music On Hold Server:

Hope that makes sense?

Thanks

Matty

Yes it make sense. Can you share traces?

OK, this is odd if I login to the admin inferface of the new Sub it shows as registered with the Sub! But it can't see the status of the other servers! Whereas if I login to the publisher it can see all other servers but not the new sub!

Maybe my installation did not complete sucesfully or something!?

Can you login into Subscriber GUI and from Cisco Unified Serviceability > Tools > Control Center - Network Services try to access the services for other servers. If you get any errors while doing so then it would be a certificate issue. Else, if you are able to access all other servers from Subscriber page then try restarting the RIS Data Collector service on all nodes and see if the status comes up correctly.

I can see the network services from other server apart from SUB3, which if I logon to that one directly can't even see it's own network services page!

OK, think I have a bigger issues!

SUB4 thinks phones are registered with SUB2 but if I look at SUB2 it thinks the same phone is Unregistered!

The publisher is showing as being up for 316 days! Think it's time for a full cluster reboot!

Thanks for your input everyone!

Fixed by a reboot!

hi manish , i had the same issue and it was resolved by restarting RIS on all nodes..

thank you very much

Ok, looks we are having connectivity problem between CUCM nodes. Let's check the db replication status

On the Pub and New-Sub, go to Unified Reporting > UCM Database Status > Generate Report. Please share the results (ideally which should have replication status 2 for all nodes).

Since this is a new installation make sure that it is reachable from media resources and make sure that services are running (Call Manager Service and IPVMS).

Hi Matty,

If the issue is coming up when you change the device pool then you should also look at the database replication status on all servers in the cluster, it should be 2 for each of them. If replication is good then restart the IPVMSA service on affected node and collect detailed IPVMSA traces as suggested by Mohammed.

Just in case,
verify that Ann, IVR, Conf, MOH is enabled for new SUB in system -> service parameters -> Cisco IPVMS App -> Run Flag set to True.
