Beside the obvious name what is the real difference of NANP:PreDot versus PreDot on CUCM?
I was making a couple of test and they do the same for patterns like:
9.[2-9]XXXXXX
9.011!#
555.42XX
777800.[2-9]XXXXXX
So I don't really understand the difference, and therefore I always uses PreDot but I was wondering if there's a trick/function that I'm not seeing here.

I believe this is a cosmetic difference only. I have configured route patterns that do not conform to the NANP dial plan that rely on the NANP:PreDot discard instruction at the RL/RG level and it works just the same as PreDot on the Route Pattern itself.

Just making sure! :)

I don't believe that is true. Patterns like 9.XXXXXXX will not have the 9 removed with NANP:PreDot.
