New to VoIP. New implementation

Antonio Knox

Hi Guys,

I'm no complete stranger to VoIP (I've done maintenance and port configs before), but I've been tasked with working on getting groundwork laid to a new implementation on our LAN, and I've never worked a VoIP project from inception to the end.  Where do I begin?  Some documentation and/or real world advice would be a big help.  What are some of the things that I should be gathering information for first?  I know that with large implementations often times its the little things that get overlooked, and they tend to be the biggest issues in the end.  I need to know what those are as well as some of the standard "Things to Do" tasks.  Thanks in advance for all your input.

Paolo & Rob, thanks for the info. That will help a lot. Gordon, while I appreciate your comment, that's not really the helpful variety of info that I'm looking for.
