Dear Experts....

After long time ,I use to created a paging service on my client in CME as follows.....

ephone-dn 86
name Paging
number 1234
paging ip 239.1.1.10 port 2000

ephone 1
mac-address 8478.ACC6.958A
button 1:1
paging-dn 86 unicast

ephone 2
mac-address 5475.D02A.F36E
button 1:2
paging-dn 86 unicast

ephone 3
mac-address 8478.ACC6.997E
button 1:3
paging-dn 86 unicast

My problem is simple, when i use to dial on page number as 1234 ,its working with all connected page-dn's,After disconnect from page service  some of telephones(6921) are not getting the dial tone ,even can't call internally or simply say phone get hang.does any one face this issue so far.please check my check above config & let me know your suggestion here!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!& one more thing ,as my client using both sip & sccp types. is there any extra configuration needed for paging for communicating between SIP & SCCP?..

As i can see the ip phones and the cme in different subnets

What is your default gateway here?

Core Switch maybe

If so, configure multicast routing between vlans to route the paging packets

View solution in original post

Under both vlan interfaces in the core switch add this command:

ip pim sparse-dense-mode

also add this command in the configuration mode:

ip multicast-routing

why are you using unicast here?

the paging-dn command should use multicast,

did you try it?

Dear laith

let me tell you first of all,I did configured as multicast (paging-dn 86 multicast).it wont work.then i use to configure as uni-cast,it woks only up to 10 SCCP phone at a time.I have never been configure for multicast address in CME. could you show me how to configure it.below find the CME and IP phone informations as follows !!!!

CME        10.11.7.2

Subnet     255.255.255.0

IP Phone 10.11.8.x

Subnet     255.255.255.0

Dear Laith

Thank you for your information. please find my network  as follows !!!!

CME          10.11.7.2

Subnet      255.255.255.0

IP Phone  10.11.8.x

Subnet       255.255.255.0

Default gateway 10.11.8.1

yes  DGW is core switch...

do you have any template to create a multicast for paging between CME and core switch?

you can use my above network information to create a sample config. !!!!.

Under both vlan interfaces in the core switch add this command:

ip pim sparse-dense-mode

also add this command in the configuration mode:

ip multicast-routing
