Prime Collaboration Deployment to CUCM 14

Hi to all

I will must migrate a customer's CUCM cluster from 11.5 to 14.x, and I will try to use a PDC to do it.

User's guide explain how to do this, but i have a question about this.

To create vServers with 11.5 software I have used .ova files for that version. PDC migrate to version 14. but at the end of that I will have a cluster migrated to version 14, but my vServer are reimain created with OVA 11.5 version.

My question are:

1 -  this is an accettible solution?

2 - If I must create a SR, I will have some problem with this configuration?

Or after migration I must do a backup from new version 14, ri-create a new vServer with right version's OVA, and finally restore backup ???

thank you very much for help

Fabio

Why do you map the 11.5 OVA ? You need to use the 14 OVA when mapping the VM's on define migrations cluster step)

Below mentioned will be the steps.. There is also a dCloud lab available for PCD. you can make use of it.

  1. Discover Old Cluster
  2. Deploy 14 OVA on new server
  3. Discover EXSI Cluster
  4. Define Migrations Cluster( MAP old and NEW VM's)
  5. Schedule the Task.

You can also use below video to understand the PCD migration.

Hi Nithin

Thanks so much for your help.
I didn't realize that I could create a new cluster with the correct version of the OVA file and then migrate from the old cluster to the new cluster.
I thought the update was done on the same servers. I'll do a test in my lab first

and I will clearly look at the link to the video you sent me

thank you again

Fabio

When we say migrations, its from one hardware   to another. When we say upgrade,  we bring the same server to the latest versions. Whats your case? is it migrations or upgrade ?

Hi Nithin

you have right.

In my case is un upgrade version from 11.5 to 14.x, not migration. HW is the same.

Fabio

In that case ignore my Previous post, thats applicable for Migrations.

For Upgrades, You need to read  Upgrade/ Migrations guide, Release notes and readme file along with the PCD guide .
