Route Unavailable DN to other partition

Hi,

We have Directory number 1000 assigned to two partition A_PT and B_PT.

DN 1000 with partition A_PT is configured on line of IP Phone where as DN 1000 with Partition B_PT is configured on line of user Device profile (used for Extension mobility).

We have created Calling search space Internal_CSS which contains B_PT on top and then A_PT.

What We want to achieve is when we call DN 1000 it should get  connected to DN in  A_PT if DN in B_PT is unavailable.

Regards

Jigar

Hi,

I think you will face problem in this and will be able to make call to 1001 only when EM is being used because its partition is listed top in CSS.

When EM is logout, 1001 will be listed as unregistered and call won't be placed to 1001 although that DN is assigned to phone line.

Why don't you keep 1001 for EM and phone line in the same partition?

Thanks for the Reply,

I also completely agree with you, but clients requirement is to have same DN for both Logged in state as well as logged out state.

Ok, but why they are asking for keeping the same DN in different partitions?

- Vivek

Requirement was to have PSTN call only when device is logged in and in logged off state only internal calls (DN) should be allowed. Condition applied that both logged in and Logged Out device should have same number and should be reachable in any state.

To make it more simple. client wanted to to Lock IP Phone (No PSTN) when he is not on his desk.

Hi,

Generally EM requirement is limited to as long as user is logged in. When user is logout, other profile or phone current settings can be applied which is generally not similar to users EM profile. However as per your client requirement, profile is same for EM and phone with respect to DN, hence this issue. Keeping DN's in the same partition won't serve the outgoing call restriction case. So what Carlo suggested before seems appropriate solution for your requirement.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi ,

Have you tried to create a css with partition_A only and configure call forward call no coverage and call forward unregistered on device profile DN with that css and 1000 as destination ?

Let us know

I'm with Vivek. so to solve your problem, configure the "call forward unregistered" parameter on extension 1000 to go to extension 2000 for instance (also in partition A). so that as soon as the 1000 device profile logs out, extension 2000 is rung when someone calls 1000.
