Hi there
on CUCM, device--> phone-->Line--> last filed is USER ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LINE
on the User Management --> end user --> you also has option to add device in DEVICE ASSOCIATION
what is the difference? do we need to populate those filed when configure user and device?
Thanks

Hi Vipul
thanks for the quick reply.
what is the benifit to assoicate with device or a line?
if I want to let user log into the //cucm.server ip/ccmuser I konw you have to assoicate uesr with device, but in what situation where you need to assoicate a line with a user?

Hi
You associate the device to the user (on the end user page) to give the user control via CCMUser, and also optionally via CTI.
You associate the line to the user (from the line appearance page) to assign it to that user for Presence purposes. It's used for 'on the phone' status in CUPC only as far as I'm aware..
