SRST gateway not handling incoming calls

Hi All,

I have an SRST gateway with MGCP configured. When it falls back to SRST, there is no incoming calls by default. Can someone explain how this will work? What commands will I have to input for this to work. The ports are analog trunks connected to FXO ports.

Thanks.

When in MGCP mode the CUCM is controlling the calls coming in through the gateway, the gateway itself is not making any decisions. When in SRST mode the CUCM is out of the picture so you need to tell the gateway what to do with incoming calls. For each analog port you would need to put in some commands similar to:

voice-port 0/0/0
connection plar opx 1001

This will send any calls into port 0/0/0 to extension 1001. 1001 can be the receptionist or a shared line on a bunch of phones or a pilot of a hunt group that goes to a group of phones.

Thanks for your response.

So when the router is in MGCP mode and also have the commands stated above on the FXO ports, the calls will be routed by the Call Manager.  These commands on the FXO will not affect the call routing or take preference over the call manager?

Please advise

That's correct, local config on the gateway is only looked at when MGCP is not registered to CUCM.

Please try resetting the mgcp on gateway and try again.
Router(Config)#no mgcp
Wait for few seconds(5-10)sec
Then
Router(Config)#mgcp

Remember , it would unregister the MGCP gateway on CUCM and inbound/outbound Calls will be affected.

Please below doc to verify the configuration of MGCP and SRST..
