UCCX connectivity with third party hardware (wallboard)

Hello to all.

I would like to make a question.

Our customer has Cisco UCCX 7.0.1. We are trying to connect a third party wallboard in order to display the server's statistics and reports.

We are trying to add a data source (ODBC) and we change the default database to db_cra.

In the Start / Programms / Administrative Tools / Data Sources (ODBC) /  ODBC Data Source Administrator / Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration we are using the below credentials:

Name: wallboard

User: db_cra

Unfortunately, we do not  know the user's password.

Is anyone knows which is the password?

Thank you very much in advance.

Friendly regards.

Isidoros

HI Isidoros,

Procedure

Step 1 On the wallboard client desktop, use the standard Windows Computer Management feature to create a new Windows NT account or a new local user, called CiscoWbUsr.

Make a note of the password for the new CiscoWbUsr account.

Step 2  On the Unified CCX server, change the password for the CiscoWbUsr account to be the same as the password on the wallboard client desktop.

Step 3  From the wallboard client desktop, log in as CiscoWbUsr.

Step 4  Install the wallboard software on the wallboard client desktop.

Step 5   Create a system DSN on your Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 server by choosing Start> Programs > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).

Step 6 Click System DSN tab and click Add.

The Create New Data Source window opens.

Step 7 In the Create New Data Source window, choose a SQL Server driver and click Finish.

The first Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window opens.

Step 8 In the first Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window, perform the following tasks:

•In the Name field, specify a name for this DSN (for example, Wallboard.)

•In the Description field, enter a descriptive name.

•In the Which SQL Server field, enter the Unified CCX server IP address or system name.

Step 9 Click Finish.

The second Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window opens.

Step 10 In the second Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window, click Windows NT server authentication radio button.

Step 11 Click Next.

The third Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window opens.

Step 12 In the third Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window, change the default database to db_cra and click Next.

The fourth Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window opens.

Step 13 In the fourth Create a New Data Source to SQL Server window, click Finish.

The ODBC Microsoft SQL Server window opens.

Step 14In the ODBC Microsoft SQL Server window, click Test Data Source.

If the phrase “Test completed successfully” is returned, then click OK.

If the test is unsuccessful, return to the configuration sequence and fix any errors.
