I'm trying to find out if Unity Conn 8.5 update will install successfully as a patch on a new install. Install DVD is 8.0
I tried in a lab environment and it failed.
Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried that yet.
One thing for sure is you'll need a 8.5 license.
CM 8>8.5 and CUPS 8>8.5 - no license requires
CUCx 8>8.5 and UCCX 8>8.5 - license required

Would there be a workaround for the 2nd node though?
Publisher is at 8.5.1. Subscriber will not join cluster unless is at 8.5.1
I definitely think this bug is the problem.
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I believe that the only time CUCM will allow mismatched versions is during the upgrade
process. Being that this is a lab envirnment, I would try installing 8.0 on the Sub, let it finish
and then upgrade to 8.5
Cheers!

I got a hold of an 8.5 dvd, that solved my problems.
The problem was that how do you finish installing CUC 8.0 unless it's the first node. The second node has to talk to first node. The first node is at 8.5.
Can you tell it is the first node in order to finish install, upgrade, then make it part of the cluster?
Thanks,
Alex
