Unity Connection Service status is DOWN. Connection Database Proxy. The alert is generated on Mon Jul 22 13:17:42 EDT 2013 on node
Unity Connection 7
let me know what will be the issue

This service allows tools that are not installed on the Connection server (COBRAS, User Data Dump, Distribution List Builder, and so on) to gain direct access to the Connection database via ODBC from a Windows client on the network. This is disabled by default and should stay disabled. It looks like someone enabled it to get some work done but forgot to deactivate it and hence the messages. I would disable the service in Unity Connection Serviceability.

Any impact if we stop the service?

Hi Friend,
There is no impact in stopping the service.
This service should be used in conjunction with tools that is installed on the Windows servers which communicate with the Cisco Unity Connection.
If you need the tools to communicate with the Unity Connection, you need it activated ; otherwise you don't.

Hi there,
Just to add to the great info from George (+5 )
There will be no impact shutting down this service. It should
only be activated when trying to use the Tools that George
highlighted.
Cheers!
