Hi all,
If my Call manager MCS7825I4-K9-CMC2 upgrade from 7.1 to 8.5 and Unity Connection Server MCS7825I4-K9-UCB1 upgrade from 7.x to 8.5, what software I want to order from CISCO ? Are the hardware compatable with the 8.5 ?
Thanks a lot

Hello Leung,
It really depends on the number of phones and the type of the Phones.
For short explaination , first choose the :
UC Manager Enhanced 3 and 3 Migration Users
choose the number of useres depending on the three option , then choose it from the left panel and enter the number for the UCSS.
then
choose the UC Manager 8.5 Server Software Options to specify the number of server software license you need ( i always choose 9 since this is the maximum number and it's free , also it is better this way since if the customer decided to add a new CUCM server , you can't order the license server alone (because the value is 0) you have to choose at least 50 users , so in this case , you won't be worried about server software license) ,
for the righ ponnel chosse the option UCM-7825-85-XU and type the number 9.
For the first option , there are three options (enhanced , basic and essiental) as you can see above i choosed the essential (since most of the phones around the world are in that type) you have to check the types of the IP Phones in the customer site and check it where the migration will be.
Hope this helpful.

Hello,
Yes it is correct , just one question does they have 999 users on the CUCM ??? because the less than 1K not to set it to 999 , it's for the number users if the total number is less than 1 K.
Hope that was helpful.

Hello,
Here is the hardware compatibility matrix for the CUCM .
For the ordering , do you have a valid UCSS or you want to order it through the ordering tool.
Amer

Hey,
If you are covere under valid UCSS and ESW, you can order the upgrade software from PUT tool.
Otherwise, you'll have to buy the upgrade from ccm7.1 to ccm 8.5.
HTH!

Hello Leung,
this is the part number (top level part number) : CUCM-USR-LSC
You have to go to the configuration tool and configarte based on the number of phones , is there a migration of the types , no. of servers , etc...

Hello Leung,
Sorry , the part number above is incorrect , this is the correct one : CUCM-USR-LIC
Sorry again.

Hi Amer,
The actual user with ip phone are around 300 so I will change to 300 users. This BOM will be applied to the CCM server and Unity server for version 8.5 ?
Thanks

Hello,
The number of users then should be 300.
No , this is only for CUCM , the subject is CCM 7.1 to 8.5 , i didn't notice that you need unity ?
What is the number of unity users?
Amer

Hello,
I am not really sure about the unity connection upgrade , i didn't do it before , i was searching around and i found this on the release notes of the 8.5
Customers running Cisco Unity Connection 8.0 can download the Cisco Unity Connection 8.5 upgrade software from the Cisco Software Center at: http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/index.shtml.
check the release notes guide for the unity connection 8.5
I hope that maybe some other guys here can help with this but for mean time, i prefer if you open a case with the PDI to get the exact upgrade part number.
I will keep searching around maybe i can get something.
