Upon starting Cisco softphone (CIPC), it displays the error "Call control protocol for this device has changed. Click 'OK' to restart Cisco IP Communicator."

Verizon CIPC-8-6-5-0,  SIP, on Windows 7 platform.  It's registered with CUCM 9.1

Can you please perform the below workaround and see whether it resolve the issue or not?

-Allowed full control under the Registry key for the Cisco Ip Communicator on Windows 7,
explained this to the customer:
-Click Start
-Type 'regedit' on the search field
-Choose: HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>Cisco Systems,Inc.>Right
click>Permissions>Full control checkbox enabled for all sessions
