Hi All,

I'm very new to cisco unity connection. Can someone explain me the exact purpose of creating user without VM box in unity connection? we can go for call handler instead of creating user without VM box right?. There is no options like this in unity 4 version.  Please advise.

Thanks,

Murali.

In these situations an administrator would have a regular voicemail user account and a second account with elevated privlages for administrative tasks.   The administrative account would not need a voicemail account configured.

Hi Murali,

Here is the description

Users Without Voice Mailboxes

For users who do not need to send or receive voice messages, but need to administer the system. You determine which tasks administrators can do by assigning their accounts to any of the predefined roles.

An account that is set up without a voice mailbox does not have a phone extension and is not counted as a voice mail licensed user.

Like you nicely noted, for some users a Call Handler  or Contact might also be used depending on the

User requirements.

Cheers!

Rob
