Need to connect CM to old TDM switch , which uses DPNSS

going to use a VG30D but do I also need an ISR with an E1 interface or can I connect from Cisco to the VG30D just using IP ?

CM===IP======VG30D=====DPNSS=========TDM Switch

or

CM====ISR(E1-interface QSIG)======VG30D========DPNSS======TDM Switch

Yes, you will need a router with an E1 interface card. We currently have 3x 3825 routers hooking up our Production UC cluster, via iQ3000/VG30Ds, to our legacy PBX network of 22 iSDX systems.

The VG30D just performs the protocal conversion to DPNSS.

Hi Alistair, Sorry to bother you but I'm having tons of trouble with these VG30D's. What I can't find is the QSig config on the CUCM i.e. what sort of timeslot selection. Any chance you can give me some details regarding what you have please as I'm just about to throw them in the river.
