Does anyone know how to view if it has this? I've been to 'Settings>Adminstrator settings>Security setup' on the phone but I cannot see anything about the MIC. the LSC field is there (which says 'not installed) but not the MIC.

Any ideas?

Any Ideas?

MIC comes pre-installed in newer ip phone models from Cisco and 8945 is surely one of them.

LSCs must be manually installed on the phones by following the Communications Manager Security Guide section found here http://tools.cisco.com/squish/A5E5A

.

Ideally you should be able to see that under Settings>Adminstrator settings>Security setup, not sure why this is not prsent in your case.

1. Are you able to see MIC on other ip phones installed in your network?

2. What is the call manager version?

3. What firmware 8945 phones are sitting at?

in answer to your questions:

     1. no cannot see it on any of the phones (all  8945)

     2. 8.6.2

     3. sccp 9-3-2-11 (taken from the phone)

Thanks

If the phone is registered to CUCM, the device will have an ip address.  Ensure that Web Access is set to Enabled.

Navigate to the IP Address of the device and confirm that you are able to open the Web Page of the phone.  place "https://" in front of the IP Address, accept the security risk in your browser and you will be able to view the installed MIC certificate of the device.  May not work for all browsers or devices.

You have to use the CAPF Troubleshoot mode to generate MIC in CUCM and then download it via RTMT To view.
The procedure is listed in details in below link, this is for both MIC and LSC.
