Hi all,
I have seen "%" sign used in IOS voice translation rules, but I can't find it in any translation rule config guides. What does it mean and how to use it?
thanks

The guide above is about the BTS product, not IOS.
To my knowledge, % is not used in translation rules.

Just to add to Paolo's note
Note Wildcard symbols such as the period (.), asterisk (*), percent sign (%), plus sign (+), and question mark (?) are not valid in translation rules. The router simply ignores these symbols when converting a number if they are used in a translation rule.

appreciate your link and quote, but I got this doc from Cisco:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_tech_note09186a0080325e8e.shtml
Wildcard | Definition |
---|---|
. | Any single digit |
0 to 9,*,# | Any specific character |
[0-9] | Any range or sequence of characters |
* | Modifier—match none or more occurrences |
+ | Modifier—match one or more occurrences |
? | Modifier—match none or one occurrence |
it has no reference to %, but it does say * is valid, however from Javalenc's link, * is invalid??!! same with the period "." Is this because one is voice translation rule and the other is translation rule? I thought they do the same job, just voice translation rule is newer feature.
