Hi,
We currently have a pair of Cisco 4120 Chassis each running a couple of virtual FTDs and are planning on upgrading the FXOS firmware and FTDs (FMC is already at latest version). My question is regarding the FTD devices. When the Chassis FXOS is being upgraded, do the virtual instances running on it need to be shutdown before starting or does that happen automatically during the upgrade process?
Firepower Chassis 1
FTD1_1 - Primary
FTD2_2 - Secondary
Firepower Chassis 2
FTD1_2 - Secondary
FTD2_1 - Primary
Thx in advance for any advice given.

The chassis upgrade will automatically shutdown any logical devices, be they standalone or containers, HA or clustered. They will automatically restart after the chassis reboots as part of the upgrade.
