I'm running into an issue where I cannot access the Nexus 9000v after deploying it through an OVA on my standalone ESXi server (No vCenter). Without vCenter I'm not able to use the serial feature that Cisco outlines in their documentation to work around this I created a POAP server to deploy a small config to configure the mgmt IP address and get out the new switch setup.
After applying the config file I'm able to hit the switch but it keeps rejecting the default credentials and POAP script created credentials. Its like there should be a local login under line vty, but that's not a recognized command. Also I tried enabling telnet, but had the same results.
Has anyone been able to work around this issue?

Thanks for the reply, BB. Can you provide more context on how you made and configured the management port?
