CCM 4.1(2)sr1, H323 Gateway with T1/PRIs and NO RINGBACK.

Hi.

Another ringback problem. But this one is really weird. I have CCM 4.1(2)sr1 talking h323 with a 3725 with multiple PRIs on a PRI NFAS Configuration (that is why I didn't use MGCP in the fist place). Router is running 12.3(11)T3 code.

The problem I'm having is that when calling from the IP Phones to the outside world I can't hear ringback at all but the calls get connected. But the ringback problem is not all the time. I can make a couple of calls and the ringback works fine but the next call .. no ringback and the next one will have ringback again. I already use the progress_ind commands under the pots and voip dial-peers on the router without any luck at all.

Any ideas.. Even doing a transfer from Unity to the outside world the ringback is intermitent...

Thanks in advanced,

-Jose

The ringback should come from the telco but sometime the telco can not send. You can try to use the "tone ringback alert-no-pi" command on the dial-peer voice # pots

Hi.

I went to that document already up and down without any luck. I also used the tone ringback alert-no-pi. It is weird that the ringback is inconsistent.... Don't know what else to do... probably opening a TAC case. I have debugs from a call with ringback and another one to the same number without ringback. I can posted if needed..

Thanks,

-Jose

I'm having the same issue. Mine seems to only happen on long distance calls and it only started when we moved to a 3700 platform. When we put our 2600 platform back in it works fine with the same config. If we put the 3700 back in it works for a few days and then stops on all long distance calls. Tried all the commands in the document as well. Any luck yet?

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

No luck yet. On our setup it happens on random calls and we are also using a 3725 with T1/PRI interfaces.

Please let me know if you were able to resolve the problem.

did you put in these on the pots dial-peer?:

progress_ind alert enable 8

progress_ind setup enable 3

Yes.

I actually try all possible alternatives using the following documentation

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094c33.shtml#voipcalls

and I'm still having the intermitent ringback problems when calling from IP Phones through the PSTN using the 3725 as an H323 gateway using 12.3(11)T3 IP Voice.

I can post debugs from the router for a call with ringback and another to the same number without ringback if needed.

Thanks,

-JJ
