Hello;
During a recent migration I noticed a "local-alerting" command under a couple voice-port configurations:
voice-port 2/1:23
local-alerting
!
I did not enter the command in myself, and I checked with the other engineers and all are positive they did not enter the command.
These were found under T1 PRI circuit configs and only showed up under a few (2 or 3) from a set of about 12 total circuits on 2 seperate gateways.
I tried researching this command, and it is not under any command reference doc I looked through, google was of no help as well, it does not even come up as a listed command when entering "?" under voice-port......
Is any one familiar with this command?
What does it do?
Are there any reference documents or links?
Would it be possible for it to automatically appear after certain events? (no one recalls entering this in)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Are these MGCP controlled gateways?

This command only makes sense when local bypass of DSP is used, In which case to use DSP to generate local bypass ringback. it's a hidden command, that's probably why you don't see it in the command reference or any document avaialble.
