The only difference is that 7960G is 1 GB phone, meaning the daisy chained PC can still operate at 1 GB. No bottlenecks.

Not true, the 7960G is only 10/100. All IP phones gained the G suffix some years ago to denote Global, marketing technique only. If you need 1000Base-T the phone to go for is the 7971G-GE.

The 7960G is a 6 button Global phone where all the buttons are the icons and there is no writing on the phone.

Yep - in other words, 'G' means you get a sticker with the words on it, rather than 'messages' etc being printed on the phone itself.
