Hello All

i recently got a CISCO 880G router in order to have as backup the 3G option of the router.

Vodafone Romania is using HSPA type.

i have done all possible combinations in order to activate the 3G card but nothing.

i have done the following:

1) unlocked the PIN from the SIM

2) created a profile as:

     cellular 0 gsm profile create 1 internet.vodafone.ro ipv4 chap iinternet.vodafone.ro vodafone

then created a chat-scritp profile

    chat-script vodafone “” “ATDT*99*1#” TIMEOUT 30 “CONNECT”

I have configured the GSM interface as:

    interface Cellular 0
    no ip address
    ip virtual-reassembly
    encapsulation ppp
    dialer in-band
    dialer pool-member 2
    dialer-group 2
    async mode interactive

I have configurest the interface  Dialer
    interface Dialer2
    ip address negotiated
    ip virtual-reassembly
    encapsulation ppp
   dialer pool 2
   dialer idle-timeout 0
   dialer string vodafone
   dialer persistent
   dialer-group 2
   ppp chap hostname internet.vodafone.ro
   ppp chap password 0 vodafone
   ppp ipcp dns request
   no cdp enable

Configured a dialer list
   Conf t
   dialer-list 2 protocol ip permit

and configured “line 3″
   conf t
   line 3
   script dialer vodafone
   no exec

and done restart to the router....

nothing

I have changed the  chat-script vodafone “” “ATDT*99*1#” TIMEOUT 30 “CONNECT” to  chat-script vodafone “” “ATDT*98*1#” TIMEOUT 30 “CONNECT”

and still nothing.

pls any help will be appreciated.

thx in advance.

Are you using a SIM enabled for data and router use? Not all are.

Hello

i have checked even yesterday with the mobile provider that the card is activated for data services,

Is there a specific use for router? Can you pls tell me how should i ask it from the mobile provider in order to be ok?

thx in advance

Sometime, there are cards activated for data service in phones only.

You need one that works in an USB adapter, or notebook.

hello

well the sim card works on a USB mobile stick which you place it at a computer...

any help is appreciated.

thx
