Hello
I have a scenario where I need the same vlan between two different campus connected by dark fibre. I have pair of 4500-x or 6880-x switches
Campus 1 ----------- Campus 2
VSS Pair 1 ----L2------VSS Pair 2
| |
|--------HSRP-----------|
I also have some other vlans which i would like to have routed connection between two hsrp pairs, so will a L2 link for HSRP purpose and L3 link for routing purpose work?

Technically i do not see any reason it wont work. - make sure your Layer 2 streched both devices in VSS Pair.
make sure you choose right prioties if you have STP loops in the network. and strech only VLAN required in that port-channel. ( or trunk)

I think you dont need link between two campus.
simply the VSS will represent only one SW "virtual" so frame from campus 1 go to VSS then to campus 2.
