ISR 1100 features activation problem

Hi.

We have two new ISR1111 (running on Version 17.5.1a) with bought licenses:

Cisco 1100 Series with 8 LAN Ports, 200 Mbps IPSEC Throughput License

Cisco 1100 Series with 8 LAN Ports, Security License

We converted PAK licences to Smart Licences. Both routers are visible in Smart Software Licensing portal under Product Instances, but won't retrieve licences for them. What is the problem?

Command: show license summ gives response "No licenses in use".

#show license all

Hi.

Just to let everyone know what was the issue. We had to configure following commands:

  • (config)# license boot level securityk9 >>>>> to activate the Security license
  • (config)# platform hardware throughput crypto 200000 >>>>> to activate the IPSEC
  • Then save the configuration and reload the router,

Kind regards

Hello,

how exactly did you start the license conversion ? I assume you used the below command:

--> license smart conversion start

Your output shows that no conversion has taken place. Try and run the above command again.

License Conversion:
Automatic Conversion Enabled: False
Status: Not started

I contacted TAC Smart licensing support and they said it takes about 24-48h for router to take licences. Somehow, I don't belive this is the problem here.

@Georg Pauwen there is not such command on my ISR 1111:

#license smart ?
authorization Authorization
clear Clear
export Get or return an export authorization key
factory Execute Smart Licensing Factory commands
import Import authcode, policies, trustcode etc
save Save
sync Sync with CSLU/CSSM.
trust Establish trust between PI and CSLU/CSSM.

(config)#license smart ?
custom_id Set a customer defined id
enable Smart licensing is Permanently configured, This cli
will have no effect
privacy privacy related commands
proxy proxy related commands
reservation Enable or disable the license reservation feature
server-identity-check Enable or disable the HTTP secure server identity
check
transport Select the type of message transport for Smart Agent
url Set the Smart Transport Primary and the Utility URL
usage Entitlement usage.
utility Enable or disable usage reporting on the device

Any idea?

Hello,

the 24 - 48 hours sounds odd indeed, that would mean you cannot run your business for up to two days...

Not sure why the command is not there, I was just looking at the Smart Licensing Guide...

I know.

We got router with software Version 17.5.1a. As I read guides, from version 17.3 and later, there were some changes in Smart licencing. The problem is, that there is no guide for our version that works. Looks like I will have to go on with TAC a bit further.

KR

you can start with RTU License it last for 30days or more (technically) till the License fixes take place.

Hi

(config)# license boot level securityk9

doesn't work for me.

Do you have any suggestions?

Regards,

Aria

Running into this same issue, both securityk9 and hseck9 show as active in the Smart Licensing portal, but they never show up on the device. Running the "license boot" and "platform hardware" commands, saving config and reloading changes nothing, still "No Purchase Information Available"..... so what do you do here??
