Router Reboots Itself

Pls cmts guys. router suddenly reboot itself and our wan links is jurky!!

System returned to ROM by unknown reload cause - reason ptr 0xBFC81E94, PC

0x60 83830, address 0x0 at 14:55:18 GMT+8 Thu Feb 23 2006 System restarted

at 14:57:27 Thu Feb 23 2006 System image file is

"flash:c3745-advipservicesk9-mz.123-11.T7.bin"

In such cases an upgrade to a newer release can be considered. For you, it might be advisable to upgrade from 12.3-11.T7, which is ED software to 12.3-16a or 12.3-17a, which are both LD.

For the rest, incidents like this can also be caused by all kinds of external conditions like the temperature in your equipment room.

The only way to truely tell the cause of the reload is to look at the crash context and the stack at the time of the crash, decode them to see if the error is indeed software or hardware in nature. Since non of this is available to us yet, it is impossible to say whether a software upgrade will resolve this issue. The link above is useful, but it will not lead you to the corrective course of action, it simply states to open a tac case.

I hope this column is still active, i have similar issue, although, the 2911 router just goes blank until a reboot, all interfaces are down. Once rebooted services comes back online.

Also, the room temperature is ok, power is fine as other devices connected to same source are OK and working, less services...no much routes, few to 20 static routes, two interfaces used, g0/0 from WAN, g0/1 for LAN.
