Hello guys,
I am trying to configure a shdsl module but I don't get to up the Atms interfaces created. I think is a wire problem because I see the following message when the show controller shdsl command.
Controller SHDSL 0/3/0 is UP

Dear Patrizio,
I've tried this versions:
- c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.153-2.T
- c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-3.T3
- c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-2.T4
Telecom says it is a wiring problem between the router and the modem.
On the modem I've 8 bnc-n3 (4 pair). I'm not sure that my custom cable is correct.
thx
Salvatore

Dear Salvatore,
i think there is an impedance mismatch , you should have rj45 port on the Telecom modem and not bnc .
If they use bnc and you use rj45 must use baloon to adapt impedance !
What modem it is an Aethra ?
ā06-25-2013 02:14 AM
Dear Patrizio,
as you can see in the attached image the modem is Albis SA44.
and i used this impedance adapter (4 adapter....one for line).
thx

Dear Salvatore,
do you use the original cisco cable for the card EHWIC-4SHDSL-EA ?
How do you connect the impedance adapter to the cisco cable ?
Have you followed how the connection are done inside the impedance adapter and in the
"RJ adapter" between the "impedance adapter" and the cisco rj cable ?
Please note that sometime using an rj11 male inside an rj45 female may not connect properly .
Patrizio

Dear Patrizio,
at this moment I've a custom cable. I started from cisco documentation and I've created this cabling (see attach).
I also tried cabling from original cisco cable without success.

Salvatore ,
i was looking at the modem , i think i see an alarm led lite , no led for g703 or shdsl line .
Can you do a kind of loopback on g703 and see if shdsl line led come up ?
(any modem manuals ? or ask telecom)
Patrizio
ā06-25-2013 05:35 AM
Dear Patrizio,
the only led ON is the power. The alarm LED is not lit, it's just a reflection.
Telecom says that under normal conditions the LEDs should be off. If I try to disconnect the coaxial cables I see light up the red alarm light. if I try to do a loop the light goes off. no green light with the exception of power.
I found an online store that sells dual-baloon. I could try to buy these:
http://www.denicolai.it/container.asp?fchi=scheda&cod=2351320&famchi=N2H&web1=N2.
is my last hope.... :-((

The device in picture is an SHDSL/G.703 converter. So you have E1 service, that you cannot connect to Cisco SHDSL interface, not even with baluns.
Eiither use Cisco E1 card to connect to G703 interface, or bypass the converter, and connect SHDSL directly.

Hi ! How does it cost this module shdsl ? In ā¬ ?

Dear Salvatore,
i hope you will resolve the issue with the dual-baloon .
Ciao e tanti auguri,
Patrizio

Dear Patrizio,
I can not find a way to have this line running.
- Tried with Cisco cable splitted in four rj11 and connected to telecom modem with four bnc n3: don't work.
- Tried with custom rj45 to four rj11 and connected to telecom modem with four bnc n3: don't work.
- Tried with custom rj45 and connected directly to the line: don't work.
- Tried with dual-baloon: don't work.

Salvatore,
i agree with Paolo .
( I did not see Paolo reply before my last answer )
At this point you should "bypass the converter, and connect SHDSL directly".

Dear All,
I tried with converter but still don't work.

I have explained you above why. When connected to the line it may not work dure to some proprietary configuration.
