The UC 500 Software Packs bundle all the necessary files for the UC 500 Series platform. The files include UC 500 IOS image, voicemail and automated attendant CUE software, IP Phone firmware files, and multiple TAR/archive files for various components of the UC 500 (for example vlan information, default configuration files for each product SKU, ringer files for IP Phones, music-on-hold files, background images for colored IP Phones, etc.). The UC 500 Software Packs are thoroughly tested with CCA releases and are pre-installed on UC 500 shipped from Cisco.
For any questions relating to the UC 500 Software Packs please email uc500-swp@cisco.com.

A UC 500 Software Pack contains a bundle of various software components resulting to a large zip file - E.g. 300MB. To validate the integrity of the Software Pack before use with CCA the checksum of the Software Pack can be compared to the MD5 checksum posted here. A program like FSUM can be used to compute the checksum-

11-30-2010 - Software Pack 8.0.5 and the corresponding CUE localization files have been posted on the Support Community and CCO. SWP 8.0.2 and 8.0.4 along with the corresponding localization files will be removed from the Support Community on 12-3-2010. If these files are needed after their removal they can still be downloaded from CCO, or email uc500-swp@cisco.com to request the specific files needed.
I updated the document graphic to make it clearer that UC520 is an EA Pack for the next few weeks.
What version of CME is in the 8.0.0 default software pack
CME Version is 8.0
is the 8.1 early adopter pack still going to be available in this month?
Please Post questions as new 'discussion' thread.
According to: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9827, you probably want the 8.0.2 since it has the latest IOS.
I believe that there is a typo in the 8.1.0 software pack IOS version. I noticed that the IOS version listed in the 8.1.0 software pack release says 15.1(1)T2. Should that be a different 15.1(1) branch, or should that be 15.1(2)T? I know that IOS 15.1(1)T branch includes CME 8.0 and that IOS 15.1(2)T contains CME 8.1.
The doc is correct (no typo),
15.1(1)T2 from the 15.1(1) branch. We are moving off of XA after the XA3.
15.2(1)T isnt ready for prime time yet, and we usually allow it to release and operate for a while before we take it.
Steve,
Is the download page broken, I haven't been able to get there for the last few weeks.
Thanks!
Chris
It is working for me at the moment. What URL are you using?
Looking at the doc above, I see that although the target of the link was changed to the support forums as part of the migration we performed a few weeks back, the actual text shown on the page shows the old myciscocommunity location. Was that the URL you were trying? In any case, I'll correct the doc now.
Cheers,
Dave.

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at upload.cisco.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
IE presents a similar error.
That's a bad sign. When I click on the URL you have listed, I get there straight away. This sounds a bit like a DNS issue, which means it may be a service provider problem. One thing you could try is creating an entry in your hosts file for upload.cisco.com (currently resolving to 198.133.219.161 for me) and see if that starts working. That's only really a temporary fix though, and if it does work, I'd speak to whoever administers your DNS to get the problem fixed properly.
If that doesn't fix it, try pinging the address I provided. It should respond, so if that doesn't work, then there may be a routing problem. Assuming you can get to google or yahoo or any other major website from the same PC, then again, we are looking at an ISP problem.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Dave.
Dave,
I have done some more testing... here is the results... I have a Windows 2008 Domain Controller that does that dns for me internally... Here are the commands and results:
C:\Users\cyeo>nslookup
Default Server: pcs-dc.mydomain.local
Address: 10.x.y.z
> set type=ns
> upload.cisco.com
Server: pcs-dc.mydomain.local
Address: 10.x.y.z
Non-authoritative answer:
upload.cisco.com nameserver = sjck-dmz-gss1.cisco.com
upload.cisco.com nameserver = rcdn9-14p-dcz05n-gss1.cisco.com
upload.cisco.com nameserver = rtp5-dmz-gss1.cisco.com
sjck-dmz-gss1.cisco.com internet address = 128.107.227.197
rcdn9-14p-dcz05n-gss1.cisco.com internet address = 72.163.4.28
rtp5-dmz-gss1.cisco.com internet address = 64.102.246.5
> set type=a
> upload.cisco.com
Server: pcs-dc.mydomain.local
Address: 10.x.y.z
*** pcs-dc.mydomain.local can't find upload.cisco.com: Server failed
When I run these same commands against my isp dns:
> server 142.x.y.z
Default Server: orion.externaldns
Address: 142.x.y.z
> set type=ns
> upload.cisco.com
Server: orion.externaldns
Address: 142.x.y.z
*** No name server (NS) records available for upload.cisco.com
> set type=a
> upload.cisco.com
Server: orion.externaldns
Address: 142.x.y.z
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: upload.cisco.com
Address: 198.133.219.161
This leads me to belive that Cisco is osmehow breaking dns, or microsoft 2008 dns is breaking cisco.com.
Can we get a release notes at to what is in the latest versions as well as CCA?
Bob
The release notes for CCA can be found here-
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7287/prod_release_notes_list.html
When CCA 2.2.5 is released the documents will be updated to reflect the same.
Thanks,
Anthony
I have noticed that Cisco is planning on releasing CME 8.5 late this year. When will the 8.5.0 software pack for the UC500 platforms become available? Will the 8.5.0 software pack be an early adopter release, or will the 8.5.0 software pack be a default software pack release? What version of CCA will support the 8.5.0 software pack release? What version of CUE will be included in the 8.5.0 software pack release?
