Unable to connect between Router and PC with crossover cable in Cisco

I just started my CCNA course. I tried to connect the router to the PC with a crossover cable, but it always shows that the MyIndigoCard is down. Any configuration I might have missed?

what device is this ? what is the configuration on that port ? is the admin state up ?

post show interface gx/x to understand the issue, check the cable (if you have straight cat 5/6 cable or new cross cable ?)

Is IP address assigned and no shutdown issued?  Unlike in switch, router ports/interfaces must be brought up with no shut command and IP address assigned to that interface.
