Hi support-team

I used to manager the CSPC via SSH,but after reboot it, seems something wrong with it,I can't manager it via SSH and prompt as below:

at java.net.Socket.<init>(Unknown Source)
at com.cisco.ca.ss.adminshell.client.ShellClient.main(ShellClient.java:63)
Error occured: could not connect to the command server

What happen to it and  why?

What  can I do? ?

Can you help me? I try to ask help from forum bbs.csc-china,but the page can't open since yesterday afternoon.

I could resolve the issue by reinstalling the collector. I know it is not perfect but it help ;-)

Thank you. It should be the last method to resolve it.

Yes you are right but ther was no way. For me it seem the collector SW is buggy. My colleagues in US cancel support contract because buggy.

You met the same problem,right?

Does reload the VM would take effect?

I try an reload but did not help. Same problem after reload. Then I delete the Remote Server configuration and did relaod again. Still same issue and I could see that my backup job was not working and could not connect to remote server like LDAP and I could not discover all devices.

Because of this I decide to reinstall whole collector, because it seem for me an sw issue and after this SSH was working and I could see more devices on my Portal.

Thank you for your helpful information, and please pay attention to the workaround Cesar mentioned above, it is also helpful for you, don't forget it.

Thanks

If you have collectorlogin/root access via ssh, you can try the following workaround:

Cesar

Hi Cesar

Thank you for your helpful information. But what is the default password of "collectorlogin" credential,I had not reset it and the "root" credential when first login.Unfortunately I have no credential to use so far.So I also can't backup or restore it,right? Please tell me how to do it?

Hi Cesar

How can I do to follow the workaround mentioned before if I don't have collectorlogin or root credential? I had not reset the password of  these two usernames.

Hi Jerry,

You will need to re-deploy. Please follow the instructions here:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/12696871/self-service-onboarding-setting-cspc-25-collector

which should take you through the steps to deploy a new collector. During the process you will be asked to create the collectorlogin and root credentials. Record those passwords once they are generated during the process so you can use them later if you need to access the server.

Thanks,

Lynden

Hi Lynden

Thanks for you information.

I found that there has buttons under section "Server Patch Management" on the https manage page, they seem as the access interface to import and install patches.

Can I use this to fix up the collector follow the method as the link describe below:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12927451/unable-login-cli-cspc#comment-11196961.

Cesar mentioned it  before.

Hi Jerry,

Unfortunately you can't use the GUI patch management to apply the patch that Cesar refers to. You must have access to the command line.

OK,thanks for your support.
