How do I scan for Cisco phones using CSPC?

I am able to obtain the information for the pubcm in our environment, I am unable to collect any neighbor information from them.

I have tried all possible scans that I am aware of with no avail on phone information. I know that Smart Net does not collect VoIP phone information via IP, but is there a way to get it through scanning CM box or some other way?

Rebooted the CSPC VM - same exact problem.

That could be an indicator of a larger problem. Invocation Exception means the client was able to connect to the server, but wasn't able to access the requested resource. That report is pulled from the MySQL database on the server, so if it is only giving you that error when you try to pull it, there may be a database issue.

Could you deploy a second collector OVA as a test? You can leave the current one up for now.

Yes, I can try that.

Where do I get another license?  From the SNTC Portal?

Yes.

In the left pane, Select Library > All Collectors

Once the screen loads, select the Actions dropdown and choose to “Register a New CSPC”

Complete the fields as follows:

  •  The CSPC name should match the Server’s hostname, or can be any name used to identify this collector on your network. Do not use any special characters.
  •  For inventory name, you can use the same name you entered for the CSPC name, followed by a dash and word “inventory” such as this format “Hostname-inventory”. Any alternative way of identifying the inventory is fine.

Click the Submit button and wait for the dialogue to popup which will allow you to download the zip file. Save the zip file to a location you will be able to find it.

Then just import it as usual into the new one.

You can see screenshots on how to do this here:

Hey Lynden,

I spent last couple hours rebuilding this CSPC and am getting the exact same error message as before.

Same Invocation Exception

Could you tell me what Java version you are running on the PCs? Do you encounter any issues when consoling or SSHing into the server?

You mentioned going into the Linux through collectorlogin before.

Log in and go to:

/opt/cisco/ss/adminshell/applications/CSPC/uploaddata/

to find the latest transport file inventory data. You should be able to check that to see if the phones are listed.

You can send the file to: sntc-support-community@cisco.com if you'd like us to take a look at it.

Thanks,

Lynden

There is an exportdata directory with a .zip file in it if that's the one you want

You're right, it should be in exportdata if you aren't using an Upload Profile. Do you see a transport file in a sub-folder with the date of that last successful inventory?

I sent email to sntc-support-community@cisco.com with file that's in this directory:

/opt/cisco/ss/adminshell/applications/CSPC/exportdata

Was this issue resolved? I am having the same issue with IP phone discovery and the last post i see is from 2016.

Lynden, I think we are talking about two different things. I have the CM info scanned and uploaded. I can not collect any info from the CM about phones and there is supposed to be a way to do this.
