6500 VSS

I'm thinking of deploying VSS in an environment with 200+ servers and 5 IDFs. I'd like to get some feedback.

Can anyone comment on a deployment?

How complex is it? Any bugs found?

Is it ready for prime time?

Owen, I'm quite familiar with the system. Reading the literature shouldn't make you at ease for deploying it in a prod environment :)

As with any new deployment, I recommend contacting your Cisco Sales Rep and see if they let you test drive it before making a final decision on the purchase.

I know several corporations already using VSS.

As for bugs, well if you work in IT, you will always have bugs. It's called job security :)

Thanks for the post. I just left the role of an SE at Cisco a few months ago and I will for sure contact my Account Team :) The technology is great, but want to make sure it's solid.

Can you comment on safe harbor testing?
