C9407 port channel with FPR 1150

Dear all

I have one problem with Port Channel, the network topology is as follow :

-- two Core switch C9407R connected with VSS

-- two FPR 1150 as (Active-Standby) with port no. 8

-- Creating port-channel ID:13 between the core switch and FW 01

Core switch port 1/1/0/20   connected to FW01 port 9

Core switch port 2/1/0/20   connected to FW01 port 11

-- Creating port-channel ID:14 between the core switch and FW 02

Core switch port 1/1/0/21   connected to FW02 port 9

Core switch port 2/1/0/21   connected to FW02 port 11

The problem is that port 1/1/0/21 in core switch is not come up in state (with no specific reason to me )

however it works fine when connected to other devices

And, I try the port from firewall side , also working fine

any suggestions !!

I try this solution but also not working

I solve this issue by rebooting the firewall and the port channel comes up with two ports working fine

It looks weird but it's working fine now

Hi,

So, PO 13 works fine but not PO14?

Anything in the logs of the core switch?

Also, what is the output of "sh port-cha summary"?

Hi Reza

PO 13 is working fine, but PO14 is working also (with one port downstate)

No logs from the core switch

Hi,

So, if you connect the same physical interface (1/1/0/21) to another device (not in a Portchannel), does it come up?

I am trying to understand if this is a physical (layer-1) issue.

If it is not a layer-1 issue, try the following:

1-Delete Po14 all together

2-Remove the physical interface from PO 14

shut down the 2 physical interfaces ( (1/1/0/21 and 2/1/0/21).

1-Now add the physical interface to a new PO (e.g., po15)

This action should create Po15 for you

2-Un shut the physical interfaces

3-Un shut PO 15 if it is down

4-Test again using "sh port-cha summary"

Can you run show spanning tree on 1/1/0/21?

Hi Flavio

Core#sh spanning-tree interface tenGigabitEthernet 1/1/0/21
no spanning tree info available for TenGigabitEthernet1/1/0/21

That´s weird, right? I mean, spanning tree should look at it. If you have a VSS and it is connected to a cluster, you can have potencially a loop.

The problem now, why this port is not coming up !!!

The loop should not exist as both ports in Channel group and the two core switch in one logic domain

       >....The problem now, why this port is not coming up !!!

             - Check logs on both devices (too)
