Can't configure HSRP: C9300-24T 16.12.02 CAT9K_IOSXE

Hello,

on C9300-24T 16.12.02 CAT9K_IOSXE the Standby command is not recognized. Is this a license issue?

SWITCH(config)#int vlan 7
SWITCH(config-if)#stand
SWITCH(config-if)#standby ?

You need Network Advantage license for HSRP. See link:

What is the current license you have? "sh ver" will show you that.

Also, you can install the license manually.

So, you have "network-essentials" Smart License network-essentials

If you have the paid and have the license file for Network Advantage, I would try to install it locally using the link I provided. If you don't have it, you would need to purchase the license first.

Hi All, was stuck with a similar scenario customer ordered kit with essential licence, was able to active athe Network Advantage via CLI, apply command below, then save config and then reload

switch(config)#license boot level network-advantage

write

reload
