Catalyst 6509 High CPU Utilization

Catalyst 6509 CPU utilization is continuously reaching 80-90% range. The process called ios-base is utilizing 70-80 % CPU. I shutdown all fiber and UTP interfaces and even upgraded switch IOS from s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-vz.122-18.SXF14.bin to s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-vz.122-18.SXF17a.bin. However it didn’t make any difference. Please suggest reason behind high ios-base process utilization?

Have you tried posting the show commands in the Cisco output interpreter tool?

Still sounds like a bug to me. Have you got lots of tunnel interfaces?

Also, you may have updated but that is still an OLD ios. You should update to a more current one. There are over 1000 "caveats" in the 12.2(18)SXF17.
