Catalyst 9400 GLC-LH-SMD did not work

Dears.

I have a catalyst 9407 switch,with SUP-1XL which i tried to insert a GLC-LH-SMD tranciever into it.

The tranciever was detected as "inserted", but when i connect the fiber cable to it, it just did not came up.

Any idea

have you tried crossing the fiber pair over ?

also for XL you must be on IOS XE 16.6.2 or higher for that SFP to work

suggest to check the light on the fibre, also on the interface, reverse the patch leads like below

SFP-----Light--------------No light ---patch

SFP-----No Light-------------Light ---patch

Thx for the reply.

I did try to swap the fiber patch cord pairs with no luck, although the link is working on another 2960x switch.

And i am unable to see the light in the cable as it is a Single Mode.

use your phone take a picture of the cable end to see the light if its SMF
swap them anyway even if you cant see it , it wont break anything you can swap them back if it doesn't work

Ok here comes tricky one..(if the same one working on other switch)

So we need more information, ( i have come across this issue with 3750 with one of IOS was same issue)

(9300 to 3750 - move to differnt IOS of 3750 all worked).

what is end to end Device connecting.

post the interface config also show version of both.
