This may sound a very basic Question but I have hard time to figure out .
I am trying to order External & Internal Compact 1G Flash adaptor for Cisco 6509-E 720-3B SUP.
I do have Internal Flash which is 512MB.whie I wanted to upgrade both to 1G .I have hard time to figure out the Part Number for external compact flash. While reading following document, I found this
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/qa_c67_457347.html
which requires that I have to order upgrade kit for Internal Flash . What is compact flash media ?
Q. My customer already has a Cisco qualified 512 MB Compact Flash. Can I order the internal Compact Flash adapter without the Compact Flash media?
A. No. The upgrade kit is always bundled with 512 MB or 1 GB Compact Flash media

On the sup-720, you only have space for one internal flash card not 2. So, you currently have 512 (which is default). If you want to upgrade to 1Gig, you have to take out the 512 and replace it with 1Gig. Another word, you can't have 1.5 Gig total or 2 512s.
