I want to deploy WS-C2960CG-8TC-L switch using 100m multi mode fibre SPF. I have some spare GLC-FE-100FX . Are they compatible and if not what SPF is most suitable to use?

  Do a search on the release notes for the version of code you are running , it should indicate in the notes what hardware is supported for that version.

GLC-FE-100FX is supported in WS-C2960G-8TC-L. The Cisco IOS release should be minimum 12.2(35)SE.

Hi,

Yes GLC-FE-100FX is supported for your compact switch model WS-C2960CG-8TC-L since the very first IOS release for that box, ie. 12.2(55)EX1.
