Cisco WS-C6509-E IOS Upgrade

I am looking for some advice and help with egard to IOS upgrade.

We would like to install a WS-SVC-WISM2-1-K9 in each of our 2 WS-C6509-E chassis.  Both of these have supervisor 720 engines installed.  One in each chassis.

From what I have read we need to upgrade the IOS to 12.2.33 SXJ4.  Is this correct?

If this is true then what are the memory requirements for the upgrade to this IOS version.  Below is the output from Show version

Is there sufficient memory instqalled to do this install?

  I do not believe the hardware and memory requirements have changed between SXF and SXJ  trains .  As long as you have room in supervisor bootflash or on disk0 or slot0:  you should be ok .

Hi Geln - Thank you for your reply.  Another question around this upgrade is, I have been searching for a comparison between the versions and cannot find anything.

Do you know what the differences are between the advanced enterprise versions and the ip services version?

I have been searching Cisco.com and there is just so much to wade through so any help would be appreciated.

Here are the differencies between features sets.

The following are major feature highlights in each Cisco IOS Software package:

• IP Base: Includes basic routing (Routing Information Protocol [RIP], static routing, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol [EIGRP] Stub, Protocol Independent Multicast [PIM] Stub), Layer 2 capabilities, manageability, security, IPv6 host support, and quality of service (QoS)

• IP Services: Adds advanced IP routing (Open Shortest Path First [OSPF], EIGRP, Border Gateway Protocol [BGP], PIM), Cisco TrustSec^® security (MacSec, Secure Group Tagging(SGT), SGT Exchange Protocol (SXP), and Security Association Protocal (SAP)), Control and Monitoring Processor (CMP), and Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP)

• Advanced IP Services: Adds advanced IPv4 and IPv6 features, Secure Group Access Control Lists (SGACLs), Layer 3 VPN, and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

As for the difference between wan-mz and mz images, those are WAN and LAN releases. The LAN image supports only LAN line cards for the Supervisor Engine 720 and Supervisor Engine 32. The WAN image supports both LAN and WAN cards such as SIP-200, SIP-400, SIP-600, and ES+ line cards. The WAN images include WAN features such as SVI-based Ethernet over Multiple Protocol Label Switching (EoMPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), and Hierarchical QoS(H-QoS).
