fix 3850 CSCvc14038 Releases

Hi everyone,

Our 3850 switches are encountering the bug of  CSCvc14038.

We want to upgrade the switches

Known Fixed Releases:
(6)
Everest-16.5.1
16.5.1
16.5(0.138)

I can't find any releases about 16.5.1 or 16.5(0.138) in 3850 ,I think the releases are for 3650
There is only 16.6.1 that match 3850, but the current  suggested version by Cisco is 16.06.05

So my question is : can the 16.06.05 fix the CSCvc14038 bug ? or  have I only upgrades to 16.6.1 to fix this bug?

Thank you for any answers

HI,

The bug was fixed in release  Everest-16.5.1 and you can upgrade to any version after release fixed, so go with recommended 16.06.05.

Hi @tianwen.zhao,

I recommend updating to the latest version.

These include the solution of the previous bug reported.

I am running version Fuji 16.9.6 and still have the errors.  Any suggestions?

I also run the version 16.9.6 but I dont know how erase the crashinfo directory. Any helps?

We are on v16.6.6 and a handful of random switches still have this issue.  I would love to know if Cisco has a better solution other than manually erasing these files every day or a hard reboot.  These files are not show-stoppers as they get overwritten as soon as the directory gets full.

Here is how to erase these files (does not impact production):

3850-switch#format crashinfo:
Format operation may take a while. Continue? [confirm]
Format operation will destroy all data in "crashinfo:". Continue? [confirm]
Format of crashinfo: complete

3850-switch#dir crashinfo:
Directory of crashinfo:/

No files in directory
