Hardware Not Supported By Firmware

I have a Cisco 3750G Series and I tried to upgrade to a new IOS:

c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.122-58.SE1

I've clearly made a mistake because now upon reload I get the following error and then the switch reloads.

hardware not supported by firmware.

       Try loading newer software instead.

       System Resetting...

The switch is physically next to me so I should have a fair amount of options, I use Putty to console in. How can I get out of this loop? Thank you!

You are trying to load software for a 3750E on a non-E 3750.

Now use xmodem to load the correct software

Do you still have the old IOS?

look at this dicument for reseting the switch.

You basically need to break in to the switch by using the mode button in front.

HTH

I'm in the process of an XMODEM xfer, once it completes I'm hoping to be able to set the switch to boot from it. I don't have a rommon prompt though, I have a switch: prompt.

Will I be able to set the boot parameters this way?

It looks like I have a directory in flash that contains an IOS image that should be valid.

What is the command to boot from this image?

I'm currently sitting at a SWITCH: prompt

You should not need to.  Once it is loaded reset the switch and it should load from that image.

You could also change the baud rate so it can load faster.

OK it was a dumb question

My syntax was incorrect, I was able to boot to an older IOS that was residing in a directory in flash:

Thanks so much for everyone's help!
