Hi Team,
we are in the migration phase where the catalyst switch going to be replaced by Nexus 9504. below mentioned catalyst span ports configuration unable to configure on the nexus switch.
since below are limitations on nexus switches
"You can configure only one destination port in a SPAN session"
"A VLAN can be part of only one session when it is used as a SPAN source or filter"
The catalyst switch configuration mentioned below, need to support to configure on Nexus 9504.
interface GigabitEthernet1/3/2
description SPAN port to << Alteon 5224 1 >>
switchport
switchport capture
switchport capture allowed vlan 10,15,20,101,110,111,115,118,197,198,1002-1005
switchport capture allowed vlan add 565,906
no snmp trap link-status
no cdp enable
end
!!!
interface GigabitEthernet1/3/3
description SPAN port to << Alteon 5224 2 >>
switchport
switchport capture
switchport capture allowed vlan 10,15,20,101,110,111,115,118,197,198,1002-1005
switchport capture allowed vlan add 565,906
no snmp trap link-status
no cdp enable
end
!!!
interface GigabitEthernet1/1/4
description XXXX
switchport
switchport access vlan 999
switchport capture
switchport capture allowed vlan 10,20,101,110,111,115,118,197,198,1002-1005
switchport capture allowed vlan add 565
end
!!!
interface GigabitEthernet1/1/5

Hi Balaji,
Thanks for your response.
I have tried to configure with referring the same document. the problem here is the same VLAN needs to add in monitor and need to call multiple destination ports.
since below are limitations on nexus switches
"You can configure only one destination port in a SPAN session"
"A VLAN can be part of only one session when it is used as a SPAN source or filter"

Hello
This is down to the platform of the switch, span sessions vary on the switch platform, even within nexus that's why it is recommended best to review cisco documentation before migration to another switch be it cisco or another.

- Check current software version and or restrictions may have been lifted in 9.x or 10.x
