Hello to you all,
I'm about to buy a new Cisco Router. I will use it for routing on route-maps basis, tracking several IP addresses. Probably I will configure BGP and OSPF too. Using the comparison tool Cisco provides on one of its websites, I see that there are many features IP BASE has UC doesn't. The Cisco Partner who sold this product to us said UC image have all the features we need.
I wonder if you could provide some information about both images.
Thanks.

IP base will give you all of what you mentioned in your post.
see figure-4 in this link:

UC is mainly for VoIP features.

Yes, IP base is the default image. UC will give you IP base and all the UC features.

Hi Dmeligrana,
Probably for your requirement IP Base need to be re-visit because IP Base feature set includes advanced Qos , rate limiting, ACL and basic static and dynamic routing protocol like OPSF,RIP,BGPV4 and are available with IP services image. IP Services image provides bit wide variety of class features like hardware-based ip units and ip multicast routing.

Ganesh,
Thanks for answering. The comparison tool that is provided by Cisco, does not show an option called IP Services in the list.

Do you know wich of the available choices should I examine?
Thanks

Hi,
Considering the IOS trail of 15.5 T for platform 3945, The requirement asked by you for OSPF, BGP and acls. Then c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.155-1.T.bin (Universal IP Base is fine) as you can seen in iOS tool for features which you want.
I have seen other IOS feature like Universal Security or Data with no encryption they don't have those feature which suffix your requirement.
Hope it Helpss.
