Hi @Robo123

With the 9600X-SUP-2 you have to use a software from 17.8.x and newer:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286328203/type/282046477/release/Cupertino-17.9.3

I would use the 17.9.x Train at the moment.

You cant use a 17.6.x on the C9600X-SUP-2

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-9300-series-switches/214814-recommended-releases-for-catalyst-9200-9.html

Note:  For C9400X Series (C9400X-SUP-2, C9400X-SUP-2XL), C9500X Series (C9500X-28C8D) and C9600X Series (C9600X-SUP-2), the recommendation is Cisco IOS-XE 17.9.1 or later versions.

@Feichti Thanks for the replay.Could you please clarify is SUP2 wity 17.7 will support SVL ?I'm not seeing any SVL related commands un device .please clarify

You just have to check the documentation on the cisco support, normaly you find all the informations there.

Restrictions for Cisco StackWise Virtual 17.7.x

  • This feature is not supported on the Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series Supervisor 2 Module.

17.9.X:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9600/software/release/17-9/configuration_guide/ha/b_179_ha_9600_cg/configuring_cisco_stackwise_virtual.html#topic_pvq_lyn_lkb

17.10.X:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9600/software/release/17-10/configuration_guide/ha/b_1710_ha_9600_cg/configuring_cisco_stackwise_virtual.html#restrictions_for_cisco_stackwise_virtual_9600

Cisco IOS XE Dublin 17.10.1

Cisco StackWise Virtual

Support for this feature was introduced on the Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series Supervisor 2 Module (C9600X-SUP-2).

17.11.X:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst9600/software/release/17-11/configuration_guide/ha/b_1711_ha_9600_cg/configuring_cisco_stackwise_virtual.html#restrictions_for_cisco_stackwise_virtual_9600

So starting with 17.10.x SVL is for the C9600X-SUP-2 supported. But see in the documentation that there are some hints:

Note: This does not apply to the Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series Supervisor 2 Module (C9600X-SUP-2).
