Depends on what Code running on Cat 4K and is this VSS ?

Moving from IOS to IOSXE - there are manythings changed  - example QoS

i would do this way :

take the configuration backup and tweak the config as per requirement and try to apply the same config on Cat 9407

apply by block config in the different config Like

basic config

routing config

QoS config

port-config

AAA config

SSH config

see all the commands accepted and working (some of the command may be default on cisco IOS XE) you will not see them on show run ( try show run all check they are default)

always read the config and release notes of the  IOS XE code you running.

Once this is verified - Make sure all Layer 3 ports are shutdown

connecting new switch to exiting using Port-channel Layer 2 allowing all the VLANS required

Move the Physical device to new Cat 9K switch and Monitor

Once you moved all Physical device to new Cat 9K - thenMigrate the Uplink and SVI and any routing Config.

Testing and Monitor - always key

Hi Balaji,

We are running HSRP for now is it possible to add new 9407 as a new hsrp node

when Cat 9407 in SVL you do not need HSRP

if they are 2 different devices yes HSRP can work.

I do not think that there is much difference in the config. But I advise you to go through the below link once.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9400-series-switches/guide-c07-740087.html
During the config issue process in the 9400, i prefer to push section by section in the same order as 4500.
